My faith in Doctor Who has been completely restored. After being so badly burnt by Who finales, this episode was exactly the antidote I needed. Just because it was happy. It was overwhelmingly happy, and bonkers and funny and did I mention the happy endings everyone got.

My favourite thing was the fairytales. It ended up all being about fairytales, stories of belief and love and they happened over and over again through this episode:

1.For two thousand years, the ghost of a Roman centurion watched over a box containing the body of his love, waiting for the day she woke up.

2.A little girl spent a life time being told her imaginary friend was not real, but she believed and on the day of her wedding, her imaginary friend turned up in his magical blue box.

3.The plastic man believed he was human, and believed so much so, he became human.

3.At the heart of the sun, a woman is trapped, apologising over and over again her lover.

4.The stars are real.

RORY LIVES! Does this mean he's going to be a full time companion next year? Please please please please please please. I want a married couple in the TARDIS so bad. They can be the next Ian and Babs!

Also, I want plastic centurion Rory watching over the box for two thousand years fic, because it's gorgeously romantic, and if there's one thing Rome taught me, it's that Centurions are awesome (Also, anybody desperate for Rory-meets-Titus-Pullo-and-Lucius-Vorenus fic?).

RIVER! She manages to achieve new levels of awesome every time she shows up. I'm dying to know her story, particularly after she took out that Dalek. I've read a theory that she was once a villain of the week and has reformed to a degree, and I'd totally buy it.

Can she please have her own spin-off. Please.

Okay, so Amy. I liked Amy when she first appeared, but I could never get a grasp on her, which did affect my enjoyment of the character. The only thing that I could grasp onto were her commitment issues and the deep wounds left by being left behind as a child, they're what made the character human. Beyond that, she was a cypher.

I thought it was a writing issue, but this episode it all came together. It's been a slow reveal over the season as to who Amy Pond is, the girl with a huge imagination, who doesn't make sense because her life's been leached away from her by the crack in her wall.

THE FEZ. Just...THE FEZ. Oh, Eleven. Never, ever change. I love you so much. Eleven's now approaching being my favourite Doctor ever. I love him talking about stealing the TARDIS, because he reminds me so much of One. All of One's compassion, minus the crotchety. Eleven would be the best Grandad ever. Have I mentioned how brilliant Matt Smith has been all year, I totally buy him as an old man, he does it so well. Even his body language, the way he hutches over when examining something.

Anyway, I thought it was completely and utterly wonderful.

RTD had me conditioned to expect my heart to be ripped out in the last ten minutes of every series finale, so I was SO not expecting a happy ending - even when the Doctor turned up at the wedding, I was thinking "okay now Rory's going to get killed by a fork or something." But he didn't! They're both alive and married and in the TARDIS! :) :) :) I am so happy. And I refuse to read negative reviews, at least for a few days - I want to enjoy my happiness!

There are negative reviews? How can there be negative reviews? This episode was wonderful.

"okay now Rory's going to get killed by a fork or something."

*Snerk* I was a bit worried that Amy and Eleven would go off without him, I'm so overjoyed they didn't.

I haven't seen any yet (not that I've gone looking), but I'm sure there are people who are too grown up for fairy tales and insist that everything ought to make logical realistic sense with no inconsistencies despite it being DOCTOR WHO. And some people have hated this series all along and probably will continue to do so. I don't understand them!

Plus, I loved Eleven's dancing. HIS DANCING!

OMG that was both the worst and best dancing ever at the same time.

I'm thrilled, not only that I loved this episode but to see so many others did as well. There was a real poetry to Rory guarding Amy that I liked. I admit I was at first annoyed that they didn't explain who was behind the cracks etc but now I'm excited to see what will happen next.

Ooh, yes, I really like your sum-up of the fairy tale parts!

Yes, I'm really excited about a multi season story arc. (Although, I fear it shall just turn out to be the Master. Or Davros. Yawn)

AmyAmyAmyAmy. Omg. I thought the overactive imagination was always apparent -- all those damn puppets. XD I love how messed up so many different ways she is by life. Committment issues, imagination, etc. all not necessarily stemming from but grossly exacerbated by a defining experience and you get this BEAUTIFUL LITTLE WEIRDO.

Yes! You totally capured that moment of him telling her about how he stole the TARDIS! He totally inhabited the grandpa/One persona right there. Nothing cool or modern about him, weary old man telling a weary old tale.

I thought the exploding TARDIS was causing the cracks?

I do love, love, love how messed up she is. Also love how she just takes everybody into her crazy and takes the world on her terms rather than tries to be normal. I adore her with her boys as well, the Doctor being the only person she's probably met who's weirder than her, and Rory, well, I can imagine a young big-hearted Rory meeting this odd girl that was ostracised by all the other kids, got chatting to her, got invited by her into her 'imaginary' world and fell in love with her for her imagination.

The person who caused the TARDIS to explode though has yet to be named.

Amy doesn't seem so ostracized, though. Wall covered with pictures of friends, townspeople being very affectionate to her while obviously harboring a long-held belief that she's nuts. She seems like the kind of girl who is well-liked despite herself. But there are probably very few who get her. ...hell, Rory doesn't get her, either. XD I think that's probably part of the charm.

Rory-meets-Titus-Pullo-and-Lucius-Vorenus fic?

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but... wrong time period. Pullo and Vorenus lived around (I think even a little before) 0 AD. The Pandorica opens around 100 AD.

I'd love to see some lone centurion fic, though. I might even write it myself. But my muses have been pretty quiet lately.

Ah yes, but who/what caused it to explode and who's voice was that we heard in the TARDIS saying silence will fall
