I can see where you are coming from. Reading and watching are different experiences. Seeing an explosion happen is very different from reading about and the same goes for a sword fights and the like. Though, reading allows a person to get into a characters head and experience what they are going through. So each has their advantages and disadvantages and it’s probably personal preference if you like one and not the other.
