Day of the Clown (Part One)
Normally I try to put my thoughts into some kind of cohesive order. Today, I'm just writing as I watch.
SCARY CLOWN!
Maria uses too many exclamation marks. Sarah wears glasses! Is she going to be wearing that waistcoat all season? I like it, but you've got to wonder if she's got any other clothes. Maybe it's this season's boots.
Wanna bet if Chrissie's wedding is the season finale? Considering Phil Ford wrote my favourite wedding episode of any show ever – Something Borrowed - for Torchwood, it could be fantastic.
Was there a crush? Was there not? Actually, I don't care. I'd rather it be left up to audience interpretation.
Rani's pretty.
Okay, I spent ages and ages trying to place Rani's father. It took a trip to imdb, and he was Pete in The Second Coming and one Belle's more lovely clients in Secret Diary
He's wearing the same tie as the kids. I've never seen a Principal do that before. Great gesture. I like him. I like him a lot.
And it's whats-her-name from the Thin Blue Line. Sarah really does not seem comfortable doing to good neighbour thing. Gita on first impressions seems like your average Whoniverse Mum. On the scale of Jackie to Sylvia, she's a Jackie.
I wonder if Sarah will ever realise she's really fighting a losing battle when it comes to keeping her life secret from those across the street.
That American accent is terrible.
Rani is mini!Sarah 2.0
"I did not go Captain Bligh" Okay, I really really like Haresh
"What encyclopaedia did you find that in?" "Heat" :)
Sarah and Clyde team up again. Those two work really well of each other. This and The Last Sontaran totally make up for the lack of Clyde acknowledgement last series.
Rani's insistence that nobody understands is starting to grate. I suppose it acts as a contrast – she's about as determined that nobody will listen to her as Sarah is determined that Rani's not going to find out. Of course the inevitable is that Rani finds out and Sarah listens.
Is that supposed to be a German accent? What is this, episode of the bad accents?
Sarah's quite well versed in clown fear literature. You just know she's spent a bit of time justifying her fear to herself.
You can run/walk and ask questions at the same time. Really.
While I like her, haven't yet fallen in love with Rani (though, how old is Anjli Mohindra? Because I think I'm developing a girl crush) but I think we haven't gotten to know her well enough yet and she's been let down with the 'stop running when you talk' directorial decision. On the other hand Haresh I adore.
Covering the Pied Piper is a really good idea, so far ruined by the actors array of terrible accents. Oh well. Still love this show to bits.

You know, his accents are not the best, but he still sounds scary doing them, so I'm okay.
I loved Sarah teaming up with Clyde! I was glad to see her spreading the love around.
Rani I already like a lot, though the zealously stubborn "I said NOBODY will understand, shhh!" moment was annoying.

I think the accents are scary. But not in the way they're supposed to be.
May the Sarah and Clyde team ups continue and hopefully Rani will not have any repeats of that moment.
