Moan Moan Moan
Feb. 28th, 2008 05:21 pmReading spoilers and set reports is never good for me. So why do I do it anyway? Particularly at the OG. I thought I had learnt my lesson when I worked myself up into something of a frenzy from Heroes set reports concerning the hostage exchange in Cautionary Tales. Obviously not because I’m back at it, just for Doctor Who this time.
Of course I probably wouldn’t be reading set reports if the BBC would just announce a start date already. I like having a date and time to fixate on. I know short notice is just how the BBC does it, but it’s particularly bad when compared with US TV. I mean, we found out the date in September that Heroes is going to begin today. They haven't even started filming yet.
Okay, I’ll admit there is very little to this post other than moaning that I can’t watch season four of Doctor Who. No, Torchwood will just not fill the hole, neither will the Classic series DVDs since I already know what happens, neither will re-watching Life on Mars or watching The Runaway Bride for the millionth time, or fanfic (purely because there isn’t enough Ten&Donna fic out there, I think I’ve read it all). I’m fast running out of ideas to stem the seemingly endless boredom.

Date: 2008-02-28 04:57 am (UTC)I'm dying for some new Who because there is not much new ANYTHING at the moment. In saying that I am watching new Grey's, new Ugly Betty, and new Lost, but none of those are my big fandoms. I watch them but I don't delve into the fandoms, so to speak. That's left for Who, and now Heroes (thanks to you, my dear! And even then I don't go too far deep into that because of the sheer depth - I just stick with
I NEED TEN&DONNA FIC SO BAD. Not that I mind reading Doctor/Rose, or Martha/Ten, or just general fic, but there is a distinct lack of Ten/Donna. I assume you read It is a Truth Universally Acknowleged (http://community.livejournal.com/marriedonmars/24086.html) by
(And speaking of Donna I see someone has set up *another* Donna community... didn't they look and see that she already had two? Going by that she must be the most popular companion ever...!)

Date: 2008-02-28 05:55 am (UTC)And I'm watching Grey's and Ugly Betty, as well as House, but like you, they're not my main fandoms (actually, I hate Grey's, I just can't stop watching it, I think I'm a bit odd).
Heroes start date is 8 September, with a guaranteed 13 episode run with no breaks into December, and 25 episodes in total for the season. Though, apparently they haven't got Kirsten Bell on contract for the third season, so it might be Elle-less, which is very unfortunate.
And I have read that fic. I am writing Donna fic myself (though not Ten&Donna since I've set it in the Year That Never Was, so she's hanging out with Sarah, who is a rather good Doctor alternative). Unfortunately it's for a challenge, so I can't post it early, and has to be 20,000 words and I'm not yet half way. I actually think writing Donna fic is making this season four thing worse for me. I want the real thing rather than having to write every joke and interaction myself.
And yes, four Donna comms is a lot to keep track of, particularly when there's barely enough content for one. I'll notice something to go back to when I have time but never seem to get the right journal first time.

Date: 2008-02-28 05:57 am (UTC)And I suppose a worse-case scenario of April 12th is better than nothing... although I hate the wait.
Right, off to watch the new Torchwood.
