Heroes + Meme

Heroes tomorrow! I'm excited!
I've decided that I've actually been a bit harsh on Heroes in recent months, because it struck me that in one respect it is the best show on TV. Of all the things I have watched and read in the past year and a bit which have killed off favourite characters, Heroes has done it the best. Cautionary Tales is the death to beat, and it would be even without the last minute resurrection and fanservice. There was quite a bit wrong with season two, but it was Bennet's Greek tragedy that gives me hope for the third series, because when the show is good, it can be brilliant.

The Television Meme
01. Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Doctor Who, Coupling and I think maybe Heroes. It's kind of difficult because sometimes with Heroes I often just skip through the bits with characters I don't like/boring bits.
02. Name a show you can't miss:
I'm obsessive. If I like a show I must watch every single episode. For me it's easier to list shows I can miss. But, if we're going to go there: Doctor Who, Heroes, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Ashes to Ashes.
03. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
I've watched shows just because David Tennant, John Simm, Christopher Eccleston, Catherine Tate and Jack Davenport have been in them. There's a much bigger list if you ask who I would watch if they were in a/another TV show
04. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
That's a tough one. Most actors I loathe are in movies. Katherine Heigl maybe. I can't stand her.
05. Name a show you can, and do, quote from:
Bring me the finest muffins and bagels in the land! This is bad on so many levels. Like I just got screwed with my pants on: It's got to be The West Wing
06. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Damages The first season was fantastic, but I think I was the only one watching it.
07. Name a TV show which you've been know to sing the theme song:
Captain Planet (He's our hero/Gonna take pollution down to zero) It's like the code song of my generation. If you don't know the lyrics, you were not born in 1985.
08. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
Damages. It's plotty and twisty and brilliant and Glenn Close it just freaking amazing. She really deserved that Emmy. Her character's such a monster, but you sympathise with her to an extent. The Sarah Jane Adventure. If you like Doctor Who you should be watching that show.
09. Name a TV series you own:
Doctor Who series 1, 2 & 3, House series 1 & 2, The West Wing series 1, 2, 3 & 4, Heroes series 1 and Life on Mars series 1.
10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting chops in television:
Billie Piper. But was Rose Tyler that much of a stretch? The Because We Want To video does have dancing Rassilon Robots and Judoon in it, after all.
11. What is your favorite episode of your favorite series?
Tough one. I have an extraordinary amount of love for The Runaway Bride.
12. Name a show you keep meaning to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
Battlestar Galactica. I've heard so much good about it, but I just haven't the time. Also Sapphire and Steel.
13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
It came to this with ER. Also Robin Hood. Not even Richard Armitage could save that show.
14. Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Heroes makes me cry every time they have Bennet get shot (I would tell them to stop, but the Bennet-gets-shot episode is always the best of the season). I balled all they way through Family of Blood, and Journey's End wreaked me quite a bit. And then there's The West Wing's first three Christmas specials: In Excelsis Deo, Noel and Bartlet for America. I don’t know how anyone could get thorough Noel with dry eyes.
15. What do you eat when you watch TV?
Rice crackers or chocolate yogurt
16. How often do you watch TV?
Every night, but mostly only for the news.
17. What's the last TV show you watched?
Top Gear last night. It was a repeat of the one where they road-trip across the States.
18. What's your favorite/preferred genre of TV?
It would seem sci-fi, but I'm very particular about my sci-fi. It has to be sci-fi with a sense of humour.
19. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Possibly Doctor Quinn: Medicine Woman
20. What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Home and Away. I hate the show so much. They recycle the same plots every two years and I want the majority of characters to drop dead, but it's on right before the news so I watch it. Also, Charmed and Dawson's Creek.
21. What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Green Wing. It’s just so random sometimes.
22. What TV show scared you the most?
Blink. Oh, my god, Blink. My flatmate and I had to go up the stairs with one us going forwards and one going backwards so that we could see everything.
23. What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Top Gear. Particularly the African special.
Now, if you will excuse me, I think I may go and watch Company Man for the 1347th time.
