A Girl Can Dream

I may have lost my marbles just a little bit, but there just happens to be a rumour floating around the net that Jack Davenport, along with Naomi Watts and Stephen Rea (yay, I adore Stephen Rea, he would make such an awesome Scrimgeour) are in negotiations for HBP. And since as you all probably know, I'm a bit of a fan of Jack Davenport, I like this rumour a lot. But it does beg the question who could be possibly play? There's Slughorn (too young, too thin, too much hair), Bill Weasley (not enough ginger & too old), Rufus Scrimgeour (too young), Fenrir Greyback (too young) Marvolo Gaunt (too young, again), Morfin Gaunt (far too hot) and finally Tom Riddle Snr, which actually would work, but it would be all of five seconds of screen time.
But, just but, there is the shadow of a possible another character.

Okay, it maybe a bit long shot and maybe it's just the very similar hair and we don't even know if RAB would turn up in the final book, never mind the sixth movie, but it could work. And with DH to be released before the HBP movie, it could be possible to have storylines spilling from one to the other.

Date: 2007-04-27 04:19 pm (UTC)SteveJack could possibly play in HBP and I never even though of Regulus. Probably because I rarely think of Jack as scruffy (other than Norrington) but wow-- that's a really good call. Personally, I'd see him read the phone book but nice one! :)no subject

Date: 2007-04-27 04:42 pm (UTC)I think RAB is kind of a long shot, as they cut so much out already that I don't know if they'd include info that wasn't really even actually in the book as a flashback. Hmmm...
The first season of 'Coupling' should be arriving in my mailbox this afternoon. Oh, happy day!

Date: 2007-04-28 04:10 am (UTC)Yeah, RAB is a long shot. But I think having scenes with Jack Davenport going all Indiana Jones with the horocruxes and facing down Voldewart or Bella or whomever did the deed of killing him would be excellent entertainment.
I was hoping Hugh Laurie would make an appearance as well, along with so many other British actors, but unfortunately we're fast running out of characters to be cast now.

I'm still holding out for Hugh to do something. Between Stephen reading for the audiobook and Emma, Kenneth, Miranda, and Imelda being in the movies, it would just be like a perfect set!

Date: 2007-04-28 02:29 am (UTC)Firstly, a quick OMG about the whole Jack in Hp thing....two of my very favourite fandoms colliding...i can hardly stop bouncing up and down long enough to write this...
Secondly, whilst the rab thing is quite a good point and a nice idea (and that photo is such a HOT one), I'm not convinced about him not being fenrir...I dunno, i personally think he could do insane and evil yet still somehow grossly sexy very well...and i don't think the films have ever been that worried about book-accuracy...fenrir's age probably wouldn't be all that important...However, I do heartily agree that there is no way he's playing Marvolo, Morfin, Slughorn, Bill, Scrimgeour or Narcissa (um...)
Ok...I will now stop bothering total strangers and go bounce and shriek elsewhere...
