Watched Einstein and Eddington and completely loved it. A big interest of mine is the interaction of science and politics, so it was completely up my alley. And, of course, cast love. Rebecca Hall should be much more famous than she is, she's a wonderful actress.

The latest two-parter of SJA, the Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith would have been brilliant if not for the fact that Sarah's actions were completely OOC and actually made me not like her. I've never been more disappointed in the writing of the show. If they'd just gotten Sarah's motivations right. Thank goodness for the trio and Sarah's awesome mother, who saved those two episodes for me.

It got to the point where I almost gave up on Heroes. With It's Coming the Sylar storyline has finally caused me to despise the majority of the show and lose all faith in the writers' ability to get the show back on track. I say almost, because then in The Eclipse, Part One, Bennet's back to not only having lines, but being a badass sustaining my interest for another week, damn it. But I'm actively looking for a reason to stop watching the show.

"Sarah's actions were completely OOC and actually made me not like her."

SERIOUSLY. And I'm one who glories in Sarah's flaws, too -- I love her all noncommital, temperamental, grumbly ways. But WTF was that? The first episode was watchable for having a good energy and humor, the second was watchable for Barbara being my new girlcrush, but overall I'm just pretending it didn't happen. It pointlessly conflicts with previously established Sarah backstory anyway. OH GOD, I WAS ANGRY BEYOND WORDS. My jaw, I had to dig it back out of the floor. *cries*

I think they forgot to give Sarah all of Sarah's flaws and gave her all of Rose's flaws instead for that episode, and Sarah =/= Rose (in spite of what School Reunion tried to tell us). And while I'd have been completely fine with Sarah's prickliness accidentally destroying the world (as I would be Donna's insecurity, Rose's selfishness or Martha's, erm...awesomeness), having her suddenly invented parental abandonment issues do it is just lazy writing.

Gareth Roberts seems to keep getting Sarah embarrassingly wrong. I liked Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane, but there's barely any Sarah in it and what there is is young Sarah being inexplicably apprehensive about breaking into things lest someone disapprove. o0

Rebecca Hall is so great :D :D

I think I've given up on Heroes. Unless I hear it vastly improves in the latter half of the season. But I'm two episodes behind and really not that bothered about it.

Supposedly Bryan Fuller's returning to Heroes for the the next half of the season now that Pushing Daises has been canceled, but this show has disappointed me so much that I'm not getting my hopes up for a return to season one quality.

Yes, I read that too, but as you said, perhaps it is too late for things to be fixed.

That was exactly my problem (see also reviews of self). I have no problem buying this kind of behaviour from 19 years old Rose in Father's Day; she's young enough, has enough Daddy issues and is new enough to the whole time travel business. But Sarah Jane, between 50 and 60? Who otherwise doesn't just have the experience and the willpower to know better, but would never be so ciminally irresponsible and selfish to even after she's seen the apocalyptic alt!Earth say she can't let her parents die? *shakes head*

Classic case of character being sacrificed to bring about the plot unfortunately, and something I thought SJA would not do. I can understand them wanting to explore Sarah's relationship with her dead parents, and I looked forward to this episode. But I'd rather not have the exploration at the price of my enjoyment of the show and character and respect for the writers.

Hopefully the show can return to form in time for the return of the Brigadier.
