"Then You Have Chosen the Wrong Side"
Nov. 28th, 2007 10:24 pmOh Heroes, you give me a brilliant episode last week and followed it with bit of a let down.
Truth and Consequences
RIP Alejandro. You were saint-like and you were hot. You know, I actually liked the twins in this episode. Maya looked like she was seven and Sylar had announced she was going Disneyland in that last scene, all dressed up all nicely and with a big grin waiting to meet Mohinder. I can’t wait until she finds out the truth about Sylar and her brother’s ‘leaving’. Damn, is she going to be pissed. And of course, Mohinder and Molly are going to get caught in the crossfire.
There are two moments tied for best of the episode, the first one being Sandra fending of Bob with a gun. I love how she’s gone from the dotty mother we saw in the first episode of the show to gun toting matriarch of the Bennets now Noah’s ‘dead.’ Sandra/Bennet is so my Heroes OTP, I heart those two.
And Elle, trying to get her keys in the car. Could have been too slapstick, but came off as just one of those believable things that happens to us all. Those moments are the reason I love this show.
I love Noah when he's all "YOU THREATENED MY FAMILY - YOU DIE NOW" I love Noah when he's all calm and collected too. I just love Noah. You know what with Noah and the Haitian's reunion scene of mutual love and affection in Lizards, that rather hilarious for all the wrong reasons flight scene with West last week and now with Mohinder and the restraints, Noah's getting all the slash action this season.
I really hope we get a scene with Bob and Noah together and talking alone, not for slash reasons but because you just know the Noah’s the only one who could get Bob to drop the nice act and discuss the Company’s evil plans that calm matter of fact way that Bob does.
Claire’s scenes would have been better if we didn’t know that her Dad wasn’t actually dead. On the other hand, going a week thinking Noah was permanently dead would have killed me. I’m torn.
Micah and Monica are so cute. I adore the pair of them. Though I wish they were more integrated in the plot. The whole New Orleans storyline just seems so detached from everything else. And finally, a costumed super!
In the too stupid to live stakes:
Mohinder, are you trying to become the first scientist to be shot dead by a medical cadaver? I was completely fine with Mohinder last week, yeah it was dumb but I expected him to regret it and I was expecting some angst. But no, we don’t get angst, we get Mohinder gloating about he did the right thing. When Noah catches up with him it’s not going to be pretty.
Peter, for the love of everything remotely holy, read Adam’s mind. Or Hiros. Or talk to your brother and ask him about the murders he’s been investigating. On the other hand, good on you for not forgetting Caitlin.
Hiro, making it about saving the world, not getting revenge for your father’s death.
I'm not all that excited about a Hiro vs. Peter show down. Really, I find two uber powerful characters duking it out to be rather boring. I'm more of a fan of the lesser powered or not at all powered character going up against someone more powerful, or against each other.
I miss Angela and Nathan.
Questions: Dude, was Noah actually dead, because Mohinder made it sound like he wasn’t even though quite clearly, he was dead before he hit the concrete last week.
And why, why are characters on this show always so freaking dumb?

Date: 2007-11-28 03:45 pm (UTC)I will say this for Mohinder--he's focused on his goal of "let's get rid of all the viruses, you crazy people." I do wish he'd been just a little more remorseful for shooting Noah. He could've managed a "sorry I shot and killed you then brought you back from the dead" apology, at the very least.
Peter's stupidity...there are not words. "Oh, hai there Hiro! Let me fight you because even though you helped me save the world and everything, I'm gonna be this other dude's complete tool, because I have not yet learned to NOT naively trust everything complete strangers tell me."
See, I'm somewhat interested, because really, Peter is technically much more powerful than Hiro--he's got all of Hiro's powers and then some. But Hiro has to win, so...
Noah could've just been, um, extremely unconscious?

Date: 2007-11-29 05:55 am (UTC)That and maybe consider the fact that he’s brought somebody back from the dead. Mohinder always struck me as the kind who would have issues with playing God in such a way.
But Hiro has to win, so...
Maybe Peter loses control of his powers again. Then again, Hiro hasn’t exactly got great control either. Still, they’d never kill off Peter, they’d never kill off Hiro and Adam can’t die, neither can they wipe out 93% of the world’s population – it’s lacking in tension somewhat.

Date: 2007-11-29 06:17 am (UTC)So they left an out for Adam to be killed (possibly by surprise!Sylar? A girl can dream). Or even Peter, but you're right, I doubt they'd kill Peter. Though they need to. He is too stupid, with too many powers. And I thought Peter's power loss was b/c the Company was medicating him?

Date: 2007-11-29 07:14 am (UTC)Wow, the plot holes surrounding the healing thing are quite something.
And I really wish they could find a way to remove most if not all of Peter's powers and make him a lot less gullible. Then again, future!Peter in Five Years Gone was quite awesome. There may be hope yet.
