Because I can (and because I’m procrastinating): Season Four trailer picspam!

It’s not entirely squee - there is the odd original observation. I’ve found that when you screencap, you tend to notice little things.





Snow from the Ood planet? Ash from Vesuvius? I’m going with Ash.





Donna apparently boots the Doctor out of the TARDIS. Donna does Companioning her way, y’all.



While watching Voyage of the Damned I had the idea of running some kind of pool as to if/when the Doctor and Donna kissed (because this is NuWho). Alas, the coming soon trailer put an end to that idea.



First ritual sacrificing of Companion in New Who! (Meanwhile, somewhere in Ealing in 2008, Sarah Jane Smith gets the feeling that someone is moving in on her territory).



This made me squeal the most out of anything. There’s just something about Daleks, and I hope that part of me never dies.



Wilf! He’s been on screen for two minutes, but already Wilf is approaching on Jackie in my Companion’s family member love.



The Doctor and the TARDIS look so lonely. Don’t cry emo Doctor and emo time machine. Donna’s out there.



That thing in his hand isn’t the sonic screwdriver.



I love Donna. So. Much.



Ten is so happy! Methinks he doesn’t know they’ve landed in Pompeii (well, at least he’s not doing a Nine and deliberately taking Donna to watch massive death and destruction on her first trip)



Aww, the TARDIS is joyous again. I have noticed a general lack of hugging from those two. Hopefully when Rusty states that there's going to be no romance he didn't just mean that there was going the usual amount of pining, but with less hugging.



An actual alien planet! And this has got to be the most gorgeous scenery shot ever.



Of course to survive in those temperatures, Donna dons a quite frankly awesome fur coat.



Is that a magnifying glass in Donna’s hand? I think it is! Damn, I can’t wait for this episode now.



If the Ood turn out to be evil, I’m going to be so pissed. If they even attempt to run with the idea that enslaving a species is a good thing…Well, it’s not going to be pretty on my journal.

Emo Doc! Obviously this episode is a contemporary Earth episode, you can tell from the wristwatch in the background (unless that’s Donna, Martha or Rose in the background).



Probably the Ood episode since Donna’s wearing the fur coat of awesome. But what I want to know is: why is her hair green? Seriously. That’s really bugging me.



This is soooo an evil clone of Martha. Yes, I’m still running with my evil doppelganger theory that I’ve been advocating since the news Sontarans were returning broke. Plus, it may explain Evil!UNIT as seen recently on Torchwood that’s gotten everyone who has seen a Third Doctor serial in up in arms (I would join them probably, but I haven’t seen the episode in question).



Oh, and there is Rose. Sorry. Given Rusty’s track record, I just can’t be happy about the return of Rose. Although I’m not particularly miserable about it either. I’m just neutral.



And back to Donna, who is looking absolutely gorgeous.

DONNA!!!

Donna might rival Martha as my favorite companion - partly because you hype her so damn much ;) and partly out of sheer awesomeness this may or may not have anything to do with the fact she is Not Rose as well

I hate that the only reason I am excited for Rose's potential return is for Jackie Tyler and Mickey Smith. I'm not sure what this says about me other than my belief that Jackie Tyler > *

Also that last picture of the Doctor, with the blue collared shirt? Kills me dead. For no apparently reason other than Tennant's hotness.

Well, I have never had so much faith in how brilliant a character is going to be in my life before. We'll know in July if I was right or not, but I figure, even if the writers and RTD really mess her up, Catherine Tate's got enough talent and Tate and Tennant enough chemistry, to make her pretty damn fantastic anyway.

I'm so glad we're getting Jackie and Mikey along with Rose. I missed those two so much. And Jackie and Donna in the same scene may just cause some kind of awesomeness explosion which may end the planet, but it'd be totally worth it.

And I love it when Ten goes for the unbuttoned shirt look. He did it in 42 as well, and that was the single best thing about that episode.

And the fur coat is awesome. There is apparently much love for it in fandom already - there's tread devoted celebrating to it at Doctor Who Forum.

I think Catherine Tate looks utterly gorgeous. I mean, considering that she is competing/following on from two much younger companions, I think she looks wonderful, and I can't wait. I SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT.

I bet the fur coat is getting some love! It rocks! :D I love that the Who fandom can and will celebrate anything and everything.

She does look stunning - particularly with the curls in Planet of the Ood. And, well, I can't get over the fact they cast an older woman than the Doctor as the Companion full time. I think that's bloody fantastic.

I CANNOT wait for this, and to see Donna utterly pwn Ten on a weekly basis. Those caps of them travelling and smiling made me happy. No more emo Ten? For a week maybe at least?

I'ma kinda neutral on Rose returning as well. I'm having a hard time keeping canon!Rose separate from fanon!Rose in my mind. Canon!Rose I'm happy to see return .... fanon!Rose, I have a severe allergic reaction to.

Yes. I like Rose when she's on screen, it's just fandom that ruined her for me. All I can think about is the 25 million fangirls deciding "Billie Piper" appearing in the credits again means that Rose is the One True Companion (which to me is bashing every other Companion).

And I'm with you in hoping that we get a few weeks free of emo!Ten. Surely he's going to be happy in the Agatha Christie episode (he always seems to be happy when he's got somebody to fanboy).

Eeeee, these screencaps got me so excited all over again! I'm just so excited for Donna - she's an awesome character, Tennant and Tate have GREAT chemistry, and she's frankly gorgeous. Squeal! I'm also hoping that, with Tate being a star in her own right and RTD being lucky to get her and all that, that she'll have enough say in her character to keep RTD from trompling all over Donna.

It says a lot about my Old School roots that I got most excited by the shot of Donna being sacrificed. It's been way too long since we've had a companion being readied for the altar, is all I'm saying.

Yeah. I was worried about the cast bloat for the finale and what that would do to Donna's storyline but figured that CT would want and has got the clout to get a proper spot in the season finale.

I am so strangely excited about the sacrificing scene as well, probably out of some nostalgia for Old School as well. I really can't believe there's been three series without a ritual sacrifice of a companion. It boggles the mind.
