Expect excessives amount of hyperbole, exclamation marks and squee in the following post
Oh! My! Fucking! God! I LOVE THIS SHOW
That episode should come with a warning. Dangerous levels of squee may cause viewers to experience embarrassing failing reactions.
First off: Harriet Jones! She was twenty five million different kinds of fantastic. I shall never doubt you again RTD when it comes to writing character arcs. 1. She did not repent what she did in TCI. She stood by it. You go girl. 2. She wasn't angry or bitter at the Doctor. 3. She devised the day saving plan. 4. She took control of Torchwood and started barking out orders, with no authority. 5. Bravely sacrificing herself.
That's my Harriet.
Rose was back. Not mysterious pseudo-Doctor Rose, but actual Rose, the selfish jealous Rose. This is good! I have no idea why, but I loved her reappearance.
Sarah! Sarah recognising Davros! Crashing her car into Daleks (Sarah, a truck works much better. Ask Babs).
Mr Smith's fanfare is canon!
Martha! Rose being jealous of Martha! I want to know what that key was. Francine! (Hey, I like Francine)
DW Jack. Oh I love DW!Jack. He should met Torchwood!Jack and teach him how to be likeable, although they'd end up making out.
Worse bit: Regeneration. Mainly because I'm not sure what to make of the regeneration at all.
The best bit: the lame plan at the heart of the Dalek Invasion of Earth was just retconned to be intriguing, over forty years after the serial was written. I love this show!
Donna. Ticking. Losses yet to come. The most faithful companion will experience endless death. Does not sound good.
(Seriously, RTD, did you have to put 'most faithful' in there. I hate it when the companions are pitted against each other to be the best at any regard).
Cannot write more. Brain imploding from squee.

Date: 2008-06-29 12:03 am (UTC)*snorfle* DW Jack > TW Jack. Actually DW Torchwood > uh, Torchwood, Torchwood.
Seeing you are so awesome on theories, what is your take on the regernation? Fake, or not fake?

Date: 2008-06-29 12:07 am (UTC)I'm really not sure what to make of the regeneration. This may be because half my brain is still in squee mode and thus I have limited capacity for thought at the moment. Although its got to be some kind of fake out. Unless DT is being replace by previously unmentioned twin brother. Or the two Tens rumour is true (please no.)

Date: 2008-06-29 12:20 am (UTC)Don't think I would like Eleven being the same bloke with a different personality. Be a bit weird.

Date: 2008-06-29 02:00 am (UTC)ALSO: my girl Martha represented. And I've never seen SJA so that was great. And my Torchwood...ah.
Needless to say, I kept screaming "WHAT? WHAT?" at the end.

Date: 2008-06-29 02:10 am (UTC)Seems Martha was trusted with the future of humanity. Go Martha! And if you can, do watch SJA. It's a wonderful little show.

Date: 2008-06-29 02:53 am (UTC)LMAO! :D
There has to be some sort of regeneration loophole or something... cause I don't think they could fake us out over something THAT BIG. I've seen a theory that it has something to do with the hand.
Gah. Doctor Who has killed my brain.
