Okay, I'm going to say this before the casting news is announced. I really really want Catherine Tate as the next Doctor. Hell, kill of the Doctor and have the DoctorDonna take on his mantle replace him. Really, I don't care who the next Doctor is, I just want Donna or Catherine Tate back.

There. I said it. I feel better now.

I'm with you. Is it really pathetic that I have a long list of people I don't want and no list of people who I really really would kill to see in the role?

Well, I know for a fact that I'm going to have a hard time certain actors, for example James Nesbitt, if he were to ever get it, because even when he's in kids movies, he still gives me the creeps. But there's nobody I'm sitting here screaming 'OMG he/she's perfect' (besides aforementioned Catherine Tate).

I'm sure whoever they pick will do a good job. And really, the role is shaped by the actor. Who ever is picked will be perfect for their particular take on the Doctor.

I really like James Nesbitt in other things, but not as the Doctor. I don't like Paterson Joseph at all. I love Chiwetel Ejiofor but I don't know whether I'll like him as the Doctor. A lot of it is going to depend on how the Doctor turns out this time round.

I'm sure no one will be terrible and I want to keep an open mind no matter who it is (unless it's like...Gina McKee who I loathe and nothing can redeem her). I just read somewhere that the person picked was definitely a man, but we'll see.

That's a shame about the male thing. I really would like to see Girl!Doctor some day, and it obviously rules out my wish in the above post.

I would actually love to see Female Time Lord Who Isn't The Doctor, even in her own series. I guess it's just that I am too old to really embrace Girl!Doctor other than Joanna Lumley in Curse of Fatal Death. Or DoctorDonna. For some reason CT as the Doctor doesn't annoy me in the least. Anyone else, and I'm all about the Do. Not. Want. LOL

You say that, and I think: DoctorDonna spin-off, which would be fantastic.

Hell, in my mind, Donna's regained her memories, fixed herself, build a rudimentary time/space ship and is off gallivanting around the universe with Mickey in tow. Now, if they were only to film it...

Oh, yeah. The DoctorDonna show would actually rock. Give her a really hot but stupid toy boy companion and her own TARDIS and there ya go. (I'm not joking!)

Actually Donna and Mickey would be great together. Someone's got to write this.

I'm not sure about young and stupid. I'd imagine if Donna had a TARDIS she would be hanging out in California looking for an excuse to rescue George Clooney ;)

I keep on meaning to write it, but I haven't even finished the fic in which Donna gets her memories back yet.

Me too! It would make me so happy if this were announced.

It would be fun if it was, but with the whole DoctorDonna thing they kind of overcomplicated things for themselves if they wanted to do that.

I really wish Catherine Tate had stayed longer too. Was the reason for the one-series-only that she had other projects on, or just that thing that they had a single-series arc planned for the next companion before they found out she wanted to do it and had to tweak the plans to fit Donna?

I read in an interview of Catherine Tate that she would have stayed on for a second season if it hadn't been for the writer and actor turn over and the year of specials, so the one season run was more a result of the move to leave Steven Moffat with a blank slate for his run. It's a real shame, I would have loved another season of Ten and Donna together.

I would pay a king's ransom for this to happen.
