Torchwood is coming to New Zealand; an event that would normally not warrant a mention except for the highly amusing fact that it has been bought up by a rival broadcaster to the one that airs Doctor Who. Seems to be a bad idea to me; the Doctor Who fans will may watch Torchwood, but they won’t stop watching Doctor Who and the ones that don’t watch Doctor Who but do tune into Torchwood may be converted to watching Doctor Who. They can't advertise it as a Doctor Who spinoff because that alerts people to the fact Doctor Who exists and they can’t do anything really sneaky like put it on in direct competition to Doctor Who because the content too adult to air it at the same time as Doctor Who is aired.

I can’t wait to see how they advertise it.
