It’s Crack Doctor Who Theory Time
Jun. 17th, 2007 11:45 pmI haven’t come out with some sort of theory in ages, and maybe I’m just fishing around for a way to bring back my favourite fictitious politician, but Utopia has given me an idea…
Firstly, it works because of the three things we’ve learnt from Utopia:
1. It is possible for a Time Lord to have survived the war so long as they were disguised as a human.
2. It is quite possible for a disguised Time Lord to go through most of their life without ever opening the watch and discovering their true identity.
3. Their Time Lord personality has little relevance to who they are. However, their true identity is active to some level in their subconscious (at least that’s what I got from Professor Yana dooming humanity).
Anyway, the theory: Harriet Jones is Romana. But of course she doesn’t know that.
It could work and would be sort of fitting that she went from President of Gallifrey to Prime Minister of the UK and it would stick a whole new layer onto the “that was murder” scene in The Christmas Invasion. Further, it could work as a surprise at the end of season three and be very easy to keep quiet - just one small scene, doesn’t even need dialogue. All it would require is Penelope Wilton and a fob watch.
