All Hail the Tin Dogs of Torchwood

Finally got around to watching Exit Wounds, and I can’t believe Torchwood made me feel so sad. Had that happened at the end of the first series, I think I would not have cried, rather I would have cheered.
Still, the plot really was quite crap, but though the season it did manage to get me to give enough of a damn about the characters to care. Big improvement then from last season.
And can PC Andy and Rhys get their own comedy spin-off in which they investigate threats to the planet by slightly rubbish aliens? Tin Dog and Tin Dog Investigations or some such. The two best characters on Torchwood saving the planet from bubble wrap - it’d be brilliant!

Date: 2008-04-07 09:14 am (UTC)I think they did very well with Exit Wounds. Barrowman at times, irritates me with his FACE OF WOE (haha, see what I did there?), but the final scenes for Tosh and Owen were very well done.
I think I am the only person in the Torchwood fandom who doesn't really like Captain John though. But I was never a Buffy fangirl.

And I don't care much for Captain John and hope he goes away. But then I'm not a Buffy fangirl either.

Date: 2008-04-16 06:12 pm (UTC)Anyways, I agree that the first season of Torchwood was rather dreadful... but somehow the writers actually got me to like Tosh and Owen, which I was rather surprised about. First season I thought Owen was completely stupid and unlikable, but by the end of the second, I was rather distraught at seeing him die... but I suppose it was rather inevitable after he became a zombie person.
Shockingly, this makes me even more excited for the next season. Whose going to come on the team now? I only wish that Gwen would be killed of next... she kinda annoys me. :)

And I hope Gwen doesn't get killed off, because without Gwen I don't think we would have Rhys.
