Is Rose screaming “Doctor” or “Donna”? Videos like this - analysing tiny details in slow motion - are like crack for me.

And somebody wonderful (brivinex) has uploaded the first four of the big questions videos that can be found on the Doctor Who site. If you haven’t seen them, it’s David Tennant and Catherine Tate answering a question about themselves relevant to the episode. They take the whole exercise about as seriously as you would expect them to.

Have you had any favourite duos?
If you were given a chance to change history…
If you were each other’s servant…
If you had a clone…

I'm not sure either way. Do you have any thoughts?

Looks like "Donna" to me watching that - but if Rose was trying to communicate with Donna, why didn't she do so in PIC?

I suppose that brings up the question on where in the timeline is Rose. Has she met Donna in PiC yet? Is she trying to warn Donna about something that will happen in the future, or is she warning her in present time? Possibilities could be endless if you think about it in that way?

It's rather headache inducing once you bring the idea of the timeline being non-linear into it. I can't wait until episode eleven and it all beginning to make sense.

Yes, non-linear is something that will have to be put across VERY well if it is going to make any sense to the audience who aren't complete Whovians.

They did manage it quite well last year with the Master arc. But then it wasn't so much non-linear, as it was 'Ha! he was on Earth all along!' and I have no idea if it was confusing to people who unlike me were not watching every week.

It looks like 'Doctor' to me. I feel like her mouth would be more open at the end if it were 'Donna'.

It's really hard to decide. Hopefully we find out which soonish.

I think she's saying Donna after watching that... but who knows?? :)

Me too. I hope we find out.

OMG THANK YOU for those links, I have been waiting for those videos to pop up on the interwebs. I found 4x05 on there, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j6QT9oVflA

I think she's shouting "Doctor." My reasoning is that Rose/Billie always said Doctor like "Doc-tah" so there's a really open vowel sound at the end, which makes it look like she's saying Donna. And further I would have no explanation as to why she'd be saying Donna, so I must conclude that she is saying Doctor because it makes a lot more sense.. *is unfun that way*

Thanks for that. I missed it yesterday.

"Doctor" does make a lot more sense. Although, Donna was the on in the TARDIS at the time, if Rose had some way of knowing who was there and wasn't just shouting into the unknown...Really, this is one of those thing people could debate until the cows come home though.

...and apparently, while I have yet to properly ship Ten/Donna, I'm quite enthusiastically on board with David/Catherine now. WTF show, stop taking strange leaps over my no RPS rule.

I can so sympathize with the RPF. Even their names sound good together. I really wish someone would cast those two as leads in a screwball romcom.

DUDE YES PLEASE. Seeing them playing people who fall in love in some context somewhere would go a long way toward satisfying me. It could only translate beautifully.

Oh my God, I'm so sorry to be comment jumping and I don't even know you but that idea is just so orgasm-inducing I got a little too excited. Now THAT would be an amaaaaaaaaazing film.
